• 2016 Annual Report – Director of Mission

This is a brief review of the Director of Mission’s aims and key projects for the last five years and a pointer to a major piece of work for the future.

At the beginning of her time in post the Director of Mission developed four questions and one word of affirmation for the diocese.

All four questions are challenging . . .

  • Sent out in twos…….

Three Cliffs Parish on Gower has been honoured and humbled this year to assist in the preparation for ordination of two people.

Nigel King has served us as a Lay Reader for many years and Anthony Porter came to us before Christmas 2015 as a student.

Last Sunday at St John Penmaen we said farewell . . .

  • Cherishing Churchyards Week

As Christians, we have a duty to care for our environment.

Psalm 24 tells us that “the Earth is the Lord’s” – we are only tenants on this Earth, and it ultimately does not belong to us.

If we are tenants of the Earth, we have a duty to care for it – a duty to God, to the rest of the creation that we share the world with, and to future generation . . .

  • Developing Pastoral Ministry 2016

Neighbouring Ministry Areas celebrated the ministry of seventeen graduates of the Lay Pastoral Visitors Course on Sunday 8th May in Llangattock Church.

Bishop John licensed sixteen new Lay Pastoral Visitors: two from the Talybont Ministry Area and fourteen from the Catwg Ministry Area . . .

  • From Vision to Mission

In Swansea and Brecon we have known for a long time what we want to become: a family, rooted in Christ, committed to transforming lives by Gathering as God’s people, Growing more like Jesus and Going out in the power of the Spirit. In other words, we want our lives and faith to make a difference in our world.

It’s all very well knowing what we want to become but we also need a plan to help us achieve it – which is where our strategic aims come in . . .

  • Ein Gweledigaeth

Rydym am rannu ein gweledigaeth ar gyfer Esgobaeth Abertawe ac Aberhonddu gyda chi, a’ch gwahodd i ymuno a ni ar daith o newid a thyfiant.

Ein deisyfiad yw cael ein hadnabod fel teulu, wedi ein gwreiddio yng Nghrist, ac yn ymroddedig i weddnewid bywydau trwy: Ymgynnull fel pobl Dduw, Ymdebygu’n fwy i Iesu, a Mynd allan yn nerth yr Ysbryd.

  • Our Vision

We want to share our vision for the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon with you and invite you to join us on a journey of change and growth.

Our desire is that we shall be known as a family, rooted in Christ, and committed to transforming lives by: Gathering as God’s people, Growing more like Jesus and Going out in the power of the Spirit.
